Our History

Chartered on June 9, 1959, the Wabash Valley Human Resources Association has grown to more than 110 active members. We are the second oldest chapter in Indiana and the 22nd oldest out of more than 550 chapters nationwide.

The Wabash Valley Human Resources Association is governed by a Board of Directors which consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, two immediate active past presidents of the Association and two directors elected at-large by the membership. Several standing and ad hoc committees advise the Board and coordinate special activities and projects, including a Program Committee, Membership Committee, Legislative Committee, Newsletter Committee, Education Committee, and Community Relations Committee.

We are a local chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). SHRM, the Society for Human Resource Management, creates better workplaces where employers and employees thrive together. As the voice of all things work, workers and the workplace, SHRM is the foremost expert, convener and thought leader on issues impacting today’s evolving workplaces. With 300,000+ HR and business executive members in 165 countries, SHRM impacts the lives of more than 115 million workers and families globally. Learn more at SHRM.org and on Twitter @SHRM.
